Spiral Staircase
Beneath the famous glass pyramid at the Louvre is a stunning spiral staircase. When the museum itself is a work of art.
The lobby of the Louvre is probably the one area of this museum that seems to make sense. The Louvre has one hallway leading to another in an endless and awesome labyrinth of confusion. Using the museum map does little to help because nothing in the museum has any consistency. As you leave the third floor and take half a flight down, it's unclear if you're now on floor two or two and a half. But then you thankfully see a sign, explaining that you're now on the "red" floor, where in the last wing you were clearly not in a color-oriented floor but instead on 1.5. Back to the map.
