Ancient View
Here's a B&W view of the Odeon of Herodes Atticus that was built in 161 A.D. Situated alongside the Acropolis, it overlooks the city of Athens. Destroyed in 267 A.D. and left in ruins, it was restored during the 1950’s and is now used as a venue for music concerts. With a capacity of 5,000, it is the site for the "Athens Festival," that runs from May through October each year. Artists such as Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Sting and Elton John have all graced its stage.
