Taxi Ride

I didn't really think about it, but for most of the people living in Venice, heading out the front door to do a bit of shopping is not as easy as it is for the rest of us.
The main mode of public transportation is the Vaporetto, the waterbus that shuttles people around Venice as well as the nearby islands of Murano, Burano and Lido. Here, where the canal is too narrow, smaller boats are necessary.
