Church on the Hill
This is the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Tallinn.
I try to be very careful and considerate when entering a church. Some have strict rules regarding photography. Some will allow you to take photographs for a fee, some don't seem to mind at all and some strictly prohibit it. I've even been asked on occasion to put my camera away before entering the church, which I'm always obliged to do.
Which brings me to my adventure at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. By now, most of you are aware that I typically have a camera leading the way as I walk around through many of these amazing places. So, it should come as no surprise that upon entering this beautiful church, I had my camera up and ready to go. Click, Click Click ... I managed to take about 10 to 15 shots before I felt an elbow intentionally hit my shoulder. Looking to my right, was a very large guy that pointed to a sign less than two feet in front of me. "No Photography Allowed!" He had an angered look on his face as if I'd done something to him personally and said, "Can't you read the sign?" I looked at him and said, "I guess I missed it while I was taking pictures." And with that, I put my camera down and safely moved away from the angry tourist who was apparently guarding the church.
