St. Mary's Church
I actually ran into this church to get out of the pouring rain. You can't always pick the days or the weather, and my day in Lübeck turned out to be cold and rainy. But sometimes, things are meant to work out that way!
St. Mary's was built between 1250 and 1350. It epitomizes the north German Brick Gothic style and set the standard for about 70 other churches in the Baltic region, making it a building of enormous architectural significance.
Today, it functions as a museum and because of the inclement weather, there were very few visitors. Or maybe it was the fact that people didn't want to part with five Euros to get a peek inside.
