Rays of Light
Whether you're Catholic or not, it's hard to argue with the fact that St. Peter's Basilica in Rome is an amazing feat of architecture and art. It is simply overwhelming and humbling. Names like Michelangelo, Bernini and Raphael have all made contributions that adorn this Holy Sanctuary.
As the Basilica was super crowded, I only had a few moments to take some handheld images.
Here, sunlight streams through the domed windows illuminating one of the Angels on top of Bernini's 96-foot-tall baldacchino (canopy over the alter).
