Winter at The Burren
What better time to visit Ireland than the middle of winter. Typically overcast and quite cold, it may not have been the best decision upon reflection. But, Ireland is beautiful and every season brings stunning views. The Burren is an area in southwestern Ireland comprising a vast area of glacial-era limestone that was cracked and disfigured as glaciers passed over millions of years ago. I'm sure they've used this area as a location for some movie set on mars or other planet. The ominous sky added to it's other worldly feel. Interestingly, with a coach full of people, only a handful of us braved the cold to try to navigate this rugged terrain.
