On the Way Up
Santorini sits high on top of an island mountain and is accessible three ways; You can climb 580 steps, hop on the back of a donkey and hope that he's been eating well and doesn't have any balance issues or like most do, take the cable car up to the top. I think unless you're training for an Olympic event or have a thing for donkeys, most opt to pay the 4 or 5 Euros and let the machines do the work. The cable cars are small and hold a maximum of 4 people and for some reason don't feel quite as stable as I would have imagined. What can make it a bit worse is when the three people accompanying you seem amused by your fear of death as they rock the car back and forth as it makes its way precariously up the cliff.
Here's a shot I grabbed on the way up. There was lots of shaking, laughing and most likely a bit of incontinence on my part, but I still managed to get the shot.
