Ponte Santa Trinita
Sitting next to the Ponte Vecchio and spanning the Arno River, the Santa Trinita is the oldest elliptic arch bridge in the world. It was built in 1566 and while quite ordinary in comparison to the Vecchio, it suits the architecture of Florence so well.
What's interesting is that the first bridge in this location was built in 1252. Later the bridge was replaced as the existing Santa Trinita, but like many of the bridges in Florence, it was destroyed by German forces in 1944. Fortunately, many of the stones were recovered from the Arno and an exact replica was built shortly afterwards.
