Sundown by the Pier
For me, there's something magical that happens with long exposures. The water becomes velvety soft and the sky becomes a kaleidoscope of colors.
I was actually "directed" to take this angle by my new British friends, who decided to become directors. They were both toting around beers and I don't think it was their first or second, so I just figured I'd go along with the program. I did get a kick out of the fact that once in a while they'd argue among themselves as to where I placed the camera and insisted on having a look at each photo to offer their opinion.
While packing up my gear they walked away and then returned handing me a beer. They asked and I graciously gave them my Instagram and website information. I spent quite a bit of time on this series of images as I felt them looking over my shoulder.
This was shot with the Nikon 24-70 2.8 on my D810. I used a Lee Big Stopper 3.0 NDF in manual mode at F13 with an ISO of 100 for approximately 2 minutes.
